NLP Podcast 69: Resolving Conflicts with 1-2-3 Meta

This podcast is about how you can better deal with interpersonal conflicts and how you can resolve existing conflicts. It is about perception positions, often referred to in NLP as 1-2-3 Meta or simply 1-2-3. Are you perhaps currently in a conflict with someone? With your partner or with your parents, with children, with a former friend, with colleagues, so that you might not be looking forward to the next encounter, but rather that something negative always lingers? Or have you already cut off contact for years and no one is making a move towards the other? That would be very unfortunate, because resentment towards the other also means resentment within us – with every thought.

This technique is very effective! It becomes a bit easier for you if you can put yourself in other people's shoes. Otherwise, you can practice imagining how the other person might be feeling. This NLP technique helps you resolve this conflict. For this technique, the other person does not need to be present. This is very practical if the other person, for example, lives far away or does not want to have contact anymore. Experience shows that clients finally regain the courage and composure to immediately reach out to their conflict partners and take the first step towards clarification after applying it.

Process of the 1-2-3 Meta format
1 2 3 Meta 1. The position from within yourself. How do you perceive the conflict? What exactly do you feel? 2. The position of your counterpart. This means you will step into the role of the other and see how they perceive the world? 3. The position of a neutral, objective, factual observer 4. This position is the meta-position. Here you look at the process in relation to the question: How do I succeed in empathizing with the other roles, how does the process succeed? You can do this exercise with yourself. It is most effective with a coach or in an NLP practice group. A more detailed explanation of the perception positions can be found on our homepage, page 9.2 Perception Positions 1-2-3, and detailed assistance on how you can apply the format is summarized for you under 9.3 Exercise for Position 1-2-3. Do you prefer to be guided through the exercise with an audio file? Then this podcast is perfect for you. Here you can participate step by step and resolve your conflict right away. Have fun and success with it.
