NLP Podcast 169: Relaxed to Your Dream Job

“Good applicants can choose their job,”
says Tanja Herrmann-Hurtzig.

Finally, your dream job is within reach.
You are sitting in the job interview at your dream company and are nervous. Your hands are sweating and you are a bit red in the face than usual.
“If you were a street sign, which one would you be?” the recruiter asks you.
You are completely taken aback. What kind of question is that? You don’t know what to answer, mumbling something about “dead end…,” and suddenly feel uncomfortable.

Tanja Herrmann-Hurtzig knows why recruiters ask such types of questions and what better way there is to learn about a candidate's personality. The former HR consultant from Pro7 and Sat1 has conducted over 1000 job interviews and is now a self-employed trainer for application training. She offers these for both employers and employees.

The native Hamburger has gained life experience in all corners of Germany: She grows up by Lake Constance, studies in Aachen, and finally works in Berlin and Munich. By now, the mother of two has been working as a business and career coach for over 15 years.

In this episode, you will learn why she does not believe in stress interviews like the street sign situation or questions about the favorite cocktail. Additionally, she provides you with valuable suggestions on how to effectively conduct a job interview as a recruiter.
On the other hand, she helps you, in the situation of a candidate, to discover and recognize your potential and values, and for which profession it is worth getting up every Monday morning.

Demands for a job in home office? Recruitment by the company itself, instead of an application letter from the candidate? – What may sound exotic to some recruiters is nothing new for Tanja. She discusses with Stephan in this podcast how the job market and the HR field have changed in recent years due to digitalization and gives you, as a listener, valuable tips on how to communicate your expectations for the first salary and how to deal with potentially uncomfortable tasks in the job description.

Do you want to know which four questions a recruiter should ask about the skills and abilities of their candidates and what answers are desired?

Then listen to our new exciting podcast now and find your new dream job with the help of Tanja and NLP without having to answer “dead end” in a stress interview.
