Skepticism, distance, misunderstanding – perhaps you have also encountered these reactions when you told your environment how much you were able to develop through a coaching session. Coaching still faces misunderstanding. However, it is already well established in many areas of our society, for example in business. The trained sports scientist Simone Winkler has made a wonderful film about coaching. The director and choreographer took skepticism as an impulse to show how change can succeed with coaching.

Simone came into contact with the film world during her studies. She completed a film internship in New York. Instead of financing her studies by waiting tables, she worked as a script supervisor on set. She quickly realized that communication is an important basis for a successful shoot.

When the lightness and closeness in her relationship with her then-partner faded over the years, she decided to seek help from a coach. The couple recognized with his support what was holding them back, taking away their breath, and Simone learned to let go. This unique experience hit her with full force. She decided to share the feelings, emotions, and insights she gained in the sessions with her environment, but she encountered skepticism. The filmmaker and director started her heartfelt project from this impulse: a film about coaching.

For five years, she immersed herself in the coaching scene, filmed with experts, such as well-known NLP practitioners, and collected over 80 hours of video material. “I want to show that it can be enjoyable to be a designer of your own system and that personal success is ultimately a beautiful enrichment,” she says. She released a feature-length film that can now even be purchased by universities or used for training sessions.
