NLP Podcast 160: Writer's Block Doesn't Exist
The better your book is, the more negative criticism you will receive., says Markus Coenen.
Have you ever thought about writing a book? There is an idea, a thought within you that excites you, and you want to write it down. You may have even started to put the first sentences on paper or have already finished an entire chapter.
But then the initial flow of writing ends and you get stuck. Everyday life catches up with you, the first written pages end up in your desk drawer and are covered by other, seemingly more important documents.
Markus Coenen is an author coach and knows exactly why some people never start writing and others never finish or have little success with their completed book in the market. At school, Markus was told he was dyslexic and would never pass his A-levels. But Markus does better. In 2001, he founded an advertising agency, has published over 250 books in the long-tail sector over time, and in 2015 found his calling as an author coach through a friend.
In today's interview with Stephan Landsiedel, the two discuss their shared great passion: books. For Stephan, his first book 'Way Up – Live Your Dream' was the best business card he could have ever created. And Markus also has a special fascination for books. The author, publisher, and entrepreneur now living in Spain provides you with valuable tools in this podcast episode on how to turn your ideas into a finished, successful, and meaningful book. Markus also explains what being an author has to do with emotions and why intrinsic motivation when writing a book will lead to more success than extrinsic motivation.
