NLP Podcast 134: Social Educator Pamela Wirsing Talks About NLP in Schools

While teachers are bound to their curricula and guidelines, Pamela Wirsing tries to find new ways and possibilities. She is a qualified social educator and integrates NLP directly into everyday school life. She helps students and teachers feel comfortable at school. Individual consultations, project days, theater groups, and courses on self-confidence are part of her work. With creativity and clarity, she aims to make everyday school life as enriching as possible for everyone. Since 2009, Pamela Wirsing has been working as a school social worker in Schleswig-Holstein.
During this time, she has trained and further educated herself in many different areas. These include, among others, hypnotherapy, play and theater education, as well as NLP. In an online NLP training with Landsiedel, Pamela Wirsing learned many new techniques that she now applies in her work with students: pacing and leading, state management, the Charlie Brown exercise, Walt Disney strategy, SMART method, etc.
“The children should feel good at school! Sometimes there are little issues here and there. Then there are disputes among students, stress at home, or with teachers. I ensure that the involved parties feel better and that the school day is remembered positively. I don’t let any child leave my office with slumped shoulders!”, says Pamela Wirsing.

For a long time, Pamela Wirsing worked at a school in a challenging area. Her job was to help very burdened families. Often, the children wanted to leave their families. Together with the parents, Pamela Wirsing sought alternative ways and solutions. Today, she works at a high school – a new place with completely different focuses! There, she can help students develop their potential and find orientation for the future.

The book »» “Teenager Power: You rock your life!” by Pamela Wirsing is aimed at young people aged 13-20. It is a keyword index where specific terms can be searched for. It contains solution ideas for a wide variety of topics and problems. The exercises can be applied directly in everyday life. Apart from that, the knowledge collection helps young people deal with challenges efficiently and resolve conflicts.
“My biggest vision is that those responsible for the school system recognize that the world out there is changing, but the school is not or only a little. The curricula are still from 1843. I wish for more movement and faster change.”, says Pamela Wirsing. As a social worker, she wants to contribute to this.
