NLP Podcast 130: Buddhist Psychology – In Conversation with Daniela Barchasch

Buddhist psychology is a science of the mind! Techniques from Buddhism are meant to help take more control of one's own mind. Often, people drift off in thoughts and are not in the here and now. Traveling in the past or future, they tend to perceive negative events more. Daniela Barchasch is an expert in meditation and mindfulness, a yoga teacher and a nutritionist. She shows her clients how they can step out of negative emotions and behavioral patterns. Just practicing simple meditation techniques can lead to more satisfaction, gratitude, and joy in life. This results in calmness and clarity in dealing with one's own emotions. A focus of her work is on the topic “Mindful Eating” – mindful nutrition. Because the feeling of life also has a strong influence on eating habits.

“Over 50 percent of our day we live on autopilot, that is, passively – and that is not in our hands! Many people want to step out of their negative habits. We need to start where we can change our thinking. And we can do that with meditation.” says Daniela Barchasch.

In this podcast episode, hosted by Marian Zefferer, Daniela Barchasch talks about her past. After a traumatic childhood, she lacked the tools to be satisfied. She didn't know exactly what happiness meant. She compensated for the lack with too much food, inappropriate consumption, and harmful relationships.
