NLP Podcast 13: Interview with Modelling Expert Ralf Stumpf

In this interview, I speak with Modelling Expert Ralf Stumpf about the future of NLP. The NLP Master Class aims to fulfill what Grinder, one of the co-founders of NLP, once hoped for: a dedicated group comes together to see NLP not as a method, but as a language and to develop it purposefully.

Together with Ralf, Clemens, Carlos, and Franz-Josef, I want to show the participants of the Master Class what NLP really is. Because what is applied in most NLP trainings is, according to Grinder, at least one logical level below what Grinder envisioned NLP to be. In my interview with Ralf, he made his perspective on NLP clear. Ralf never understood why the Meta-Model of the NLP language was not continued back in Grinder's time and instead, only new NLP formats kept coming to the market. He wonders: "Where were the people who accomplished magic in NLP in the last 10 to 20 years?"

NLP is Modelling

Ralf wants to show in the Master Class that NLP is more than just a collection of NLP formats. Over 20 years ago, he completed the NLP Practitioner, Master, and Trainer because he wanted to learn Modelling. Only later did he realize he couldn't do Modelling: "I could do a lot of great things, but I couldn't do Modelling," Ralf explains in his interview with me. Ralf then took the consequence and spent 20 years of his life trying out strategies to find out what Modelling is. The result of these 20 years will be presented by Ralf to the participants of the Master Class.
