NLP Podcast 129: Online Mindset Mentoring – Interview with Anchu Kögl

Anchu Kögl is an author, coach, and mindset expert. In 2012, he experienced his first existential crisis when he dropped out of his master's program in industrial engineering and ended his relationship with his girlfriend. Anchu Kögl increasingly engaged with psychology, read many self-help books, and meditated. Through his online business, he was able to work remotely during his five-year world trip and continuously develop himself. During his journey, he made many acquaintances that continue to shape his life today. Since 2018, he has been living in Cyprus. He speaks five languages fluently and is currently learning a sixth: Russian.

According to Anchu Kögl, there are different foundations for leading a better life. Those who handle their thoughts mindfully and listen to themselves also change their feelings and behavior. Besides that, it is important not to give too much credence to one's own thoughts. "Thoughts are just thoughts!", says Anchu Kögl. "They are mental images and stories that we tell ourselves. Some thoughts are irrational and exaggerated, causing us to get lost in horror stories and worries about the future that will most likely never happen."

What stories are you telling yourself? Is it the "I'm-not-good-enough story" or the "I-can't-do-it story"? "Then you can thank your mind for that, but let's be honest – do you need these stories?" Anchu Kögl's appeal: Let go of the stories!
