Marian speaks today with Thomas Mangold - keynote speaker and author of several books for more effective time and self-management. In this episode, you will learn tricks that you just need to implement to be more effective and efficient. This can help you, for example, in the home office!
Thomas's core message is "Focus 100% on the time you are working, the more free time and relaxation you will have afterwards!"
Many people deal with self-management, but fail to implement it. It is important not to throw everything overboard immediately, as this can lead to a loss of motivation. Additionally, one should set a plan, ideally in writing, for example, "By Monday, I want to have completed X and learned Y for my self-management." Through these small steps, one can see successes quite quickly, and these should also be enjoyed.

Another problem that many people face is saying "no." The easiest way is to ask yourself the question, "What do I have to give up if I say yes to this now?" One should also be aware of their values, as this makes it much easier to make decisions. Saying no can also be done kindly; for example, you can suggest another person who is better suited for the task.
Thomas uses various tools and gadgets. Among other things, Todoist, which is a simple and intuitive task management tool that he uses for his personal to-dos. For organization within his team, he uses the task management MeisterTask, for his note management Evernote, where he notes all his ideas. It’s almost like a second brain. The advantage of Evernote is that the search function in this tool works better than in others. And of course, he also uses the Google Calendar. These are the tools that are best suited for his workflow. Additionally, Thomas uses italk24. He saves a lot of time by responding to emails with voice messages. In his free time, Thomas puts his smartphone in airplane mode and uses the tool Freedomon his computer. This disables pop-up notifications, etc., and he is not reachable. This is also helpful when he wants to produce content or work intensely on something.
More tips on email management, how to save time and energy, and which settings for pop-ups best support productivity will be revealed to you throughout this episode!
