NLP-Podcast 124: Being a Coach as a Life Mission – Interview with Sabine Bay

For ten years she has been active in the field of training, coaching, and consulting. Starting with NLP, she attended a Practitioner training by Stephan Landsiedel, back when it was still at the old location in Wiesentheid. Meanwhile, Sabine Bay is an NLP trainer at Landsiedel and conducts training in Ladenburg. Her qualifications include, among others, Transaction Analysis, Systemic Consulting, Wingwave, and Rhetoric. Sabine Bay also provides image consulting and works with people on their external appearance and charisma. She emphasizes that in business, not only the product itself but also the marketing of one's own personality is at the forefront. In her coaching sessions, Sabine Bay combines various methods. NLP provides a good foundation for coaching. The NLP toolbox contains many tools and formats that anyone can learn like a recipe. Practitioners can combine the techniques in everyday life and use them depending on the situation. Sabine Bay explains that compared to NLP, the focus in Transaction Analysis is more on the person's attitude: "What attitude do I have as a person, as a personality? Who am I? How do I position myself? How do I encounter other people?"

“What coaching means to me? I take the coachee by the hand and accompany them from the beginning of topic finding to the result. In doing so, I ask them questions and use my toolbox. Every person already carries the solution to a topic within themselves. This should be brought out! I am not a coach because I have a certification, but because I repeatedly apply techniques and can work well with people.”, says the NLP trainer. As a role model, Sabine Bay names the head of the Milton Erickson Institute in Heidelberg, Dr. Gunther Schmidt: "This man gets straight to the point! That is true art!" Dr. Gunther Schmidt is considered one of the pioneers who connected systemic therapy with hypnotherapy according to Milton Erickson into a holistic concept (hypnosystemic integration model). At the end of the interview, Stephan Landsiedel wants to know from Sabine Bay what the world needs most at the moment. “Now, during the Corona time, I perceive nature more beautifully than ever. Everything is blooming! Before, I didn't take so much time for it. What does the world or the individual person need? Definitely more mindfulness and a sense of community!”, says Sabine Bay.
