NLP-Podcast 108: Emotional Moments

Hello dear NLP friends!

A new decade is just around the corner, and just like in previous years, Stephan Landsiedel wonders:

What have I achieved?
Have I come closer to my goals?
Have I perhaps allowed myself to be distracted?

One point is important here, and that is certain emotional moments. In this episode, it will particularly focus on emotional moments that can set the course for the future. Moments in which we decide, 'I have to do this!' or 'I need to change my life!', moments in which we are very emotional and can then follow through.

Maybe you are now thinking of your own emotional moments, in which you have set something for yourself. But then everyday life caught up with you again and you got distracted – and it's gone again. The strong emotionality of the decision moment is necessary to really follow through!

Using examples from his life, Stephan explains what he means by that.

In his youth, he went to the disco 'Way up' weekly for 2 years. He usually opened the dance floor there, even though he was very shy at that time. He danced for hours to his favorite songs and swore to make something special out of his life. This swearing created a kind of emotionality in Stephan that later allowed him to get things in his life in order despite all obstacles. Often it was very hard, working until the middle of the night, little sleep, to realize his own dreams. There were many setbacks, but Stephan kept the swearing.

Another extremely emotional situation was Stephan's first seminar with Tony Robbins. Before that, he had only attended a few seminars. This seminar had 2000 participants, there were dancers, music, and light shows. It was a true spectacle! Tony moved Stephan just with his voice; it felt to him as if Tony was speaking directly to him. Stephan began to think about his life, to implement things, and to live intensely. The energy of the seminar lasted for many participants for up to 3 weeks. That is very long for a motivational seminar; often you are only in a high fly for a few days. Stephan attended this seminar a total of 8 times. He was even asked to be a German-speaking helper on site and was therefore also present in Milan and Brussels. During this time, he was always in this state, which made it so intense for him. In the seminar, the participants also learned the anchor technique to repeatedly enter these emotional states.
Stephan likes to tell this story at his own seminars. For him, it is basically always a repetition of this feeling; he anchors this promise he made to himself. Very often, this has led to ordinary situations becoming magical moments, and good results becoming very good results.

I believe that we need these emotional moments in our lives as a reminder!” – Stephan Landsiedel
