NLP-Podcast 105: Turning Shadows into Strengths – with Julia Ehmer and Willi Kiechle

In this podcast, Stephan Landsiedel talks with Julia Ehmer and Willi Kiechle. Willi is a Gestalt therapist and trained hero's journey leader. Julia is a doctor, Gestalt therapist, and seminar leader according to Paul Rebillot. Paul Rebillot further developed the hero's journey and brought it into a seminar format. Julia and Willi jointly lead the shadow seminar, a follow-up seminar to the hero's journey.

The Hero's Journey Series

The Hero's Journey is about overcoming resistance, becoming more relational, facing one's shadow, and letting go of burdens. Participants recognize through the seminars what their true purpose is and how they can create a fulfilling life. The cycle of the »Hero's Journey Training Series typically starts with the "Hero's Journey Seminar." The Hero's Journey Seminar is an intensive seminar week where many methods of Gestalt therapy and bodywork are employed. Following this, participants can attend the subsequent seminars "Shadow," "Lover's Journey," and recently also the brand new "Death and Resurrection."

The Shadow Seminar

"people who dance in the light create the darkest shadows" (English: People who dance in the light create the darkest shadows) Often, personality aspects that hold enormous potential hide in the shadow. This potential is just waiting to be unleashed. In the »Shadow Seminar participants learn to no longer see their shadow as an enemy but instead to accept it and transform it into positive personality aspects. Through meditation, movement, dance, and many creative exercises from Gestalt therapy, participants get to know their shadow in an intensive way. The next Shadow Seminar will take place from 08.12. - 13.12.2020. A creative focus in the Shadow Seminar is the construction of a shadow mask. In the podcast, Julia, Willi, and Stephan discuss this impactful process in detail. Stephan shares his personal experiences with his own shadow mask during the Shadow Seminar. Additionally, the three provide some tips for a successful life, which are a kind of essence of their years of experience as trainers and seminar leaders. Enjoy this episode!

New Follow-up Seminar "Death and Resurrection" Many people postpone confronting death just like they do with their shadow sides, instead of facing them. The seminar "Death and Resurrection" breaks all taboos and offers a completely new approach to the topic of death. [Death] Participants imaginatively experience their own death, settle unfinished business, say goodbye to their relationships, write their will, and design their funeral. [Resurrection] This allows for an intense letting go and provides the opportunity to begin a new life according to one's own deep and inner desires. As with all follow-up seminars, participation in a Hero's Journey Seminar is also a prerequisite here.
