NLP-Podcast 102: Solutions Instead of Everyday Problems - with Ralf Stumpf

Ralf Stumpf

Ralf Stumpf started with NLP in 1986 to learn about modeling – unfortunately, he did not learn how modeling works and is applied in his NLP training. Therefore, Ralf Stumpf spent years exploring the topic of modeling himself and became the leading modeling expert in the German-speaking world. He is an NLP trainer according to DVNLP and leads our NLP location in Berlin.

Solutions instead of everyday problems

In this episode, Ralf Stumpf talks about how to apply NLP and modeling for oneself. Since he did not learn much about modeling in his NLP training, he spent years exploring the topic himself afterward. It became clear during various seminars that most participants in NLP training were not aware that they could also use NLP for themselves. Most assume that at least two people are needed for this: the 'performer' (coach) and the one for whom it is performed (coachee).

As a result, he conducted some tests on himself, such as in the form of a sitting circle in his living room or a guided imagery session, to learn more about himself and the problems from his everyday life and to coach them as best as possible. He noticed positive changes even during the initial phase.

He found that it is most effective to initially dissociate from the topic and oneself and to realize that one is not alone with this problem. This already corresponds to a first form of modeling. For NLP serves self-discovery to find ideas: to ask oneself how it can be that I am not making progress and consequently to study how the problem is structured and to develop an approach to a solution.

In the complete podcast episode, Ralf Stumpf explains an advanced approach to everyday problems. Additionally, he encourages to be pleased if even just half of all the topics one deals with work, and how one should integrate NLP into their daily life for a few minutes each day.
