Metaprogram: Decisions

People make decisions for four reasons: because it looks right, sounds convincing, feels right, or makes sense.

Classifying Questions:

Why did you just decide on that?
Why are you doing it that way right now?"

Recognize and Identify

Looks right: People with this perception filter produce internal visual representations (images or movies) that meet certain unconscious criteria and thus look "right." These people prefer to see the things they are supposed to make a decision about and therefore have a preference for graphical representations of data and process flows.

Sounds convincing: People with this perception filter represent the arguments for or against a decision as an internal dialogue. For them, a certain argumentation sounds right. They like to have things explained to them and enjoy listening.

Feels right: These people get certain bodily sensations when they imagine deciding for or against something. From the nature of these bodily sensations, they know whether it feels right or wrong. They prefer to do things or try them out, use and apply them.

Makes sense: These people produce an internal representation using words and images that evoke a certain feeling in them, which they experience as "meaningful." The expression "That makes sense" also refers to a feeling. These people love facts, data, and justifications.
