Metaprogram: Approach Options - Procedures
What does a person's thought process look like? Is there a predominant constant search for alternatives or following established procedures?
Optional
Option-oriented people are motivated when they have the opportunity and possibility to do something in a new way. For them, there is always a better way to do something. They love to develop procedures and systems but have great difficulty following them themselves. If you give an option-oriented person an absolutely sure method to earn a million, they will try to improve the method. Unlimited possibilities and new ideas exert an enormous attraction on them. The opportunity to break or bend rules is irresistible to an option-oriented person. They like to develop new ideas and projects, but they do not necessarily feel the urge to complete them. They prefer to deal with development and preparation rather than maintenance and preservation.

Procedural
Procedurally oriented people are very good at following instructions and procedures. They feel comfortable and secure when they know exactly how to do something. They believe that there is a "right" or "best" way for everything. However, if the procedure they are currently using does not work or no longer works and they do not receive an alternative, they are easily stuck in a stuck state, as their ability to invent a new approach on the spot is very limited. They also have an almost compulsive desire to finish a task they have started.

Recognize and Identify
Optional: People with this meta-program will give you reasons why they decided this way and not otherwise; they will often also talk about the other alternatives they considered. They will point out the expansion of their possibilities.
Procedural: People with this meta-program will tell you how it came about that they made this decision, but in a way that sounds as if there was no meaningful alternative at all. Things happen to these people, or they get into something, etc. They do not talk about choosing, deciding, options, etc.
