NLP and Self-Confidence

NLP and self-confidence are interconnected in various ways: As a path to changing one's life, NLP offers a holistic approach to enhancing self-trust and self-confidence, as it addresses multiple levels of personality simultaneously.

The connection between NLP and self-confidence is influenced by various factors. Among these, three stand out as particularly decisive for the relationship between NLP and self-confidence: self-confidence as a consequence of performance and success, self-confidence as acceptance and appreciation of oneself and one's qualities, and self-confidence as a result of external appreciation.

All these factors that play into self-confidence are in turn influenced by NLP: NLP supports its users with techniques that contribute to optimizing performance in various fields; thus, NLP and self-confidence are in a special interaction with each other.

A part of this interaction between NLP and self-confidence is personal success: self-confidence can be attributed to a significant extent to the achievements in life. Many people settle for an unwanted job, many promising but ambitious ideas never get beyond the conceptual stage. As an NLP practitioner, one has various strategies at one's disposal to motivate oneself to take control of one's life. This way, one can plan projects and put them into action, which one can later look back on with pride.

The second part of the connection between NLP and self-confidence is communication. Numerous NLP Techniques focus solely on how to make communication successful, how to establish and maintain a Rapport connection with other people, and how to overcome the distance that exists at the beginning of a contact. Communicative skills facilitate contact initiation and often elicit friendly responses. However, the acceptance of the environment, in turn, has a positive influence on self-confidence.

The most fundamental connection between NLP and self-confidence is the importance of accepting oneself. As an NLP practitioner, one sees oneself as the author of one's own actions, not allowing the films in one's head to undermine one's self-confidence: All the destructive messages whispered by the notorious inner voice (‘this will never work’, ‘I can’t do this’, ‘nobody likes me’, ‘I am worthless’) burden one's own life. NLP helps one to break free from this kind of self-doubt, as appreciation and acceptance of oneself are the foundations of NLP and self-confidence upon which everything else is built.
